Anne Steward
I have been a teacher, a book-seller, a family group coordinator for NCH Action for Children, a study mentor for university students with problems and a VSO volunteer in Cambodia.
I enjoy performing my poems and have contributed to publications of poetry and prose. My subjects are varied and I am producing a range of cards illustrated or inspired by my photographs.
I am proud to be part of the inspiring group of people who are Holmfirth Writers' Group. The Meltham Reading group makes sure that the scope of my reading is wide and sometimes challenging. I am a Trustee and Committee member of The National Association of Writers' Groups.
It is a great privilege to be asked to be Writer in Residence for Kirklees Libraries in February. I would like to present the first steps of my adventure in South East Asia. Everyone should have a taste of another culture, I think, and when better than when you have retired. I needed a fresh focus for my energy and certainly found it.
