Linda Lewis started her writing career by joining a Writing School Correspondence Course. To try out her newly found skill, she sent her first article to Aquarist and Pondkeeper magazine, which was accepted, so now she was hooked – on writing!

Linda Lewis is a full time writer, concentrating mainly on short stories. Under the pen name of Catherine Howard, she has been published in Fiction Feast, Best, Chat, That's Life, Woman, Yours, Take A Break, Woman's Weekly, My Weekly, The Weekly News, Ireland's Own, as well as magazines in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Australia. Her first novel, The Magic of Fishkeeping was published in 2011, but she has a clutch of non-fiction works, mainly practical guides to help other writers fine-tune their skills and successfully get published.

Linda regularly lectures and runs courses on writing around the country. She also has the distinction of winning the television show The Weakest Link, which in itself must have been a source of many ideas! Based in Leeds, today she spends time helping new authors to develop their craft by organising writing workshops and summer schools.

She also writes for Link, the magazine of the National Association of Writers Groups (NAWG).
