The Garsdale Retreat
The Garsdale Retreat is a new creative writing centre, offering a wide range of residential courses with leading writers as tutors or guest readers. Ian McMillan, Fleur Adcock and John Hegley are among those featuring in this year's programme which runs from May to October, 2017 and taking place in the remote and tranquil beauty of The Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The Garsdale Retreat welcomes new, emergent and experienced writers. Tutored, as well as untutored retreats are also available for those who want to kick-start, develop or finish their current writing project.
Participants enjoy fully catered meals with locally sourced food and are accommodated in an Edwardian house and converted coach-house which also provides an attractive workshop space.
The Garsdale Retreat is easily accessible by road (A1/M6) and rail.
