# MINUTES NAWG ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2015
The Annual General Meeting held in Room F107, Engineering Building, University of Warwick. On Sunday 6th September 2015 at 11:45 -- 12:25.
MEETING COMMENCED at 11:15.
COMMITTEE PRESENT: Pam Fish, Chris Huck, Anne Steward, Steve Bowkett, Elizabeth Guyver, Catherine Fitzsimons, Marvin Close.
APOLOGIES: Arthur Day (Acting Treasurer).
CHAIRMAN: Pam Fish was unanimously voted in as chairman of the AGM meeting.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Acceptance was p. Daniel Beaumont, s. Angela Connolly and agreed by meeting.
FINANCE: Balance sheet prepared by Arthur Day and Pam Fish. Penny Ellis suggested that the balance sheet should run up to the festival instead of the 30th June, p. Bill Peters, s. Tony Tibbenham, all agreed. L. Perring suggested that we apply for the added income afforded by Gift Aid and has offered to investigate this for NAWG.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Pam paid a tribute to David Nobbs deceased, who was the Speaker at last year's festival and is sadly missed. She suggested that we name a humorous competition after him and the meeting agreed. The continuously running 100 competition has completed its 1st Round and the 2nd is underway. The Committee has raised the membership fees to £50 for UK groups, £25 for individual members and £16 Link only.
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Pam Fish was p. Bill Peters, s. Elisabeth Guyver; Kevin Machin p. Tony Tibbenham, s. Jane Martin; Marvin Close p. Vanessa Lester, s. Juliet Caird; Catherine Fitzsimons p. Daniel Beaumont, s. Simon Whaley, Meeting voted all onto, or back onto, the committee.
BOOKING ADMINISTRATOR: Anne Steward reported that there were 33 delegates for the full weekend and 79 people for the Gala Dinner. Anne will now step down and Catherine Fitzsimons will take over as Booking Administrator.
WENTWORTH WRITING WEEKEND REPORT: Chris Huck reported that the Wentworth event went well with 11 delegates for the full weekend and 3 for Saturday only.
MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY: Catherine Fitzsimons reported that we had 14 new groups and 14 new individual members but that we had lost 28 groups and 23 individuals over the year. She said that there is a delay in issuing receipts because of bank procedures owing to NAWG's being a joint signature account that can't be used online. Members can use BACS for payments. Tony Tibbenham pointed out that Gift Aid is invoked at the point of payment.
NAWG WEBSITE: Kevin Machin, Web Administrator, said that he will take an evolutionary approach to developing the website so that changes can be made in a slow acceptable manner. He said that the official email addresses for committee members with jobs will have the suffix @nawg.com. Vanessa Lester, who organises NAWG's Twitter and Facebook accounts, asked that anything to be promoted should be sent to her. Vanessa will be joining the committee.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Steve Bowkett, NAWG's Editor, said that he always needed articles and asked that people with contributions to be published in Link magazine should send them to him. Tony Tibbenham proposed that a vote of thanks be given to the board, this was seconded by Penny Ellis and agreed by the meeting. Daniel Beaumont suggested that we should have a festival payment system that would allow delegates to have their payments spread over the year. Vanessa Lester suggested we should also have a gift voucher system.
